10/8/2018 Hike up Deep Canyon

My first blog post, I can only hope they will get better and more interesting. This is about a hike close to home with my dog Molly. The weather is coll and the fall colors are rich and somehow audible. We hike up Deep Canyon in the Wellsville Mountains just east of the city on Mendon, Utah. This area is sorely overlooked by the local people which is kind of sad and as a result can provide solitude for those willing to put forth the effort to ascend these mountains. We gained about 1500 ft. during our 2 mile ascent and there we stopped for the morning and made our decent back to the vehicle about a 2 hour hike.
